The Client

Kingston upon Hull City Council
Kingston upon Hull City Council is the governing body of Hull City which lies in the East Riding of Yorkshire on the north bank of the Humber estuary.

Overview
Baydale Control Systems Ltd was appointed by Hull City Council in April 2007 to address their need for routine maintenance and servicing of their recently installed city-wide CCTV system and state of the art control room.

Strategy and Action
Baydale provides a fully comprehensive maintenance contract for this five hundred camera CCTV system covering the city itself, its multi storey car parks, highways and environmental services depots and park and ride sites. The contract also includes maintenance of the fully equipped, seven work station state of the art control room complete with GUI front end control and a 72 monitor wall.

The Council has been provided with the ability to electronically report new faults and view the current status of all jobs within their contract via remote access to Baydale’s service manager software. The Council is further informed of contract status by the production of detailed job-specific reports. Similarly monthly reports are generated which detail the response and rectification times for each call-out thereby providing an overall picture of the current status of the contract in terms of both service provision and customer satisfaction.

Outcomes
The provision of an effective maintenance service to Kingston upon Hull City Council by Baydale has ensured that the Council’s clients receive a high quality sustainable service which not only meets the requirements of the Data Commissioners CCTV Code of Practice but more importantly gives Hull residents peace of mind that the equipment put into place to safeguard their community will function smoothly and efficiently.
