BAYDALE CELEBRATES 25 YEARS
This year sees Baydale Control Systems Limited celebrate its 25th Anniversary. All those years ago back in 1999 when the first BlackBerry device hit the market and paranoia swept through the country as the world speculated about what would happen to computer hardware/software and the millennium bug, Neil Pentland, Managing Director founded Baydale Control Systems Limited and embarked on a journey to turn talk into reality.
As the business began to grow, so did the number of people who worked for Baydale. With a handful of staff at the outset, the company has grown to 60 full-time employees. The scope and scale of contracts has changed hugely, and the company has brought in people with different skills to enable it to fulfil the changing contractual requirements. Our apprenticeship scheme has gone from strength to strength and our commitment to sustainability has been a long-term focus for us and it continues to be so.
Neil Pentland, Managing Director said, “25 years ago when I set up Baydale, the learning curve was steep. I had to learn marketing and sales, how to scale a business, how to hire, how to train staff to do jobs I wasn’t qualified for myself, how to deal with employees’ personal issues and a million other tasks which I had never done before. It was tough, because I set the business up to do what I loved, but the skill sets I needed to use on a regular basis had nothing to do with that. I therefore must thank everyone who has been part of the Baydale journey from its humble beginnings to where it is now. And thank you to all our customers for their business and support over the years. We couldn’t have done it without their support”.
